Who says we can’t do both??!!

Hello!  Welcome to the “Hers” side of Mixed and Mashed.  Rob and I have been working on the concept for this blog for many months now (so many months in fact, that I’m sure all of our friends and family never thought they would actually SEE a post get published!).  While we have gone through a few different structural changes since we decided to embark on this adventure, the basic concept has remained the same: to show a love of food, drink, the people in our lives, and life in general.

I am surrounded by so many blessings.  I have a wonderful and loving husband, two adorable dogs that make life so much brighter, an amazingly supportive family (both immediate and extended), and friends who simultaneously function as inspiring mentors and laugh-out-loud comedic relief.

These blessings are why I love to cook and entertain.  (OK, well THAT coupled with the fact that I am a gluttonous fool who loves food in general and could quite literally eat myself to death…)  All joking aside, I truly experience extreme amounts of joy when making something special for those I care about.  Think about it – we all lead incredibly busy and hectic lives.  It may seem corny, but in my mind, the biggest compliment one can receive is when someone has taken time out of their own busy, hectic life to make something homemade for you.  With the increasing quality (and quantity) of the pre-prepared options found in supermarkets and restaurants these days, coupled with the diminishing leisure time we are allocated in a 24 hour period, it is amazing that people still cook at all!

This blog is dedicated to those of you who, like me, enjoy showing your love for others through food and drink.  It is also for those who want to break the cycle of take-out and give their pots and pans some attention.  Regardless of why you are visiting the site, I am eternally grateful for all of your support and comments.  Food is a passion of mine and I am so happy and excited to share this passion with you!
